This is the first entry in our Journal. We're publishing it short and honest so the rest of the writing has a place to live.
What we'll write about
We work mostly on premium e-commerce on Magento Hyvä and Shopify Plus, on motion-led product surfaces, on native-feeling mobile apps, and on the UX side of AI. The Journal will cover the parts of that work we think are worth sharing publicly:
- Hyvä migrations. Patterns, gotchas, real performance numbers.
- Motion budgets for premium commerce. How much motion is too much, measured against Core Web Vitals.
- R3F performance on low-end devices. What survives, what doesn't.
- Calm UX for agent consoles. Designing for long traces, tool calls and human-in-the-loop interventions.
- The boring parts of shipping. Release engineering, observability, accessibility, performance budgets.
Cadence
We're aiming for two posts a month. We'd rather skip a month than ship filler.
